Suspect in Lightcliffe checking vehicle handles.

Good morning,

We've had a number of reports of a suspect walking around the Lightcliffe/Brighouse area checking car door handles to see if any of them are insecure. If access was gained, they would search the vehicle and take anything of value.

Luckily, we haven't had any reports of this suspect being successful, but please always make sure your car is locked.

Remove anything of value, from sunglasses to loose change, this helps reduce the pay out and demotivate offenders from repeat offending. Even if it’s out of view, if access is gained, they will search your vehicle.

This has been taking place between 23:00 - 01:00. Please remain vigilant in your areas and please report anything suspicious to 101, Crime stoppers or 999 in an emergency.
